OMG PLC11 April 2007 11 April 2007 OMG plc Debut of new F-series motion capture cameras OMG plc, Oxford Metrics Group (LSE: OMG), ("OMG" or "the Group") the technologygroup providing image understanding products for the entertainment, defence, life science and engineering industries, announces the debut of its new MX-F40and MX-F20 cameras within its motion capture business, Vicon. The new cameras include the world's first camera sensors designed specificallyfor motion capture. The new shuttered Vicon Vegas sensors enable performancedata to be captured at higher speeds than ever before. "The F40 and F20 represent the world's first and only optical cameras to includeproprietary sensors that were custom designed for motion capture applications,"said Nick Bolton, Chief Executive of OMG plc. "The release of the Vicon Vegassensor is evidence of our continuing dedication to innovation and investment inresearch and development. Due to our incredible customers and overwhelmingmarket support you can guarantee Vicon will always be first to market." The new cameras are part of the award winning MX platform from Vicon, with the Fstanding for 'Faster Full Frame' motion capture. The F40 and F20 will replaceVicon's industry leading MX40+, MX20+ and MX13+ cameras; MX3+ cameras will stillbe available as the great value precision solution. The Vicon F40 camera is capable of capturing 370 frames-per-second at 4-millionpixels and the Vicon F20 camera captures up to 500 frames-per-second at2-million pixel resolutions. These significant increases in speed are matchedby an improvement in the cameras marker throughput capacity, allowing for thecapture of more subjects per trial or take. In addition to these speedincreases, the VICON Vegas sensor offers a true "freeze frame" shutter, so theF-series cameras are tolerant of on-set or laboratory ambient light. Nick Bolton commented: "The performance increases of the F-series cameras allowfor more accurate capture where high-speed action is par for the course, such asgolf swing analysis and capturing sports for game development. While othersystems may hit their marker limits when attempting to capture full body, handsand facial performance in the same volume, F-series cameras excel at such levelsof detail. Vicon is the only motion capture provider to custom build a sensorfor motion capture allowing complete control over all aspects of future cameratechnology development". -ends- OMG plc 01865 261800 Nick Bolton, Chief ExecutivePeter Wharton, Finance Director Financial Dynamics 020 7831 3113 Juliet Clarke / Hannah Sloane About OMG OMG plc (Oxford Metrics Group.
