VPhase plc

("VPhase" or "the Group")

Product Demonstrated on BBC DIY SOS

VPhase (AIM:VPHA), a subsidiary of Energetix Group plcand a leading provider of energy-saving products for residential and commercial properties, is delighted that its voltage optimisation product has been installed by BBC One's DIY SOS team to improve the energy efficiency of a family home in Brynmawr, South Wales. Nick Knowles and his team carried out a major renovation of the family home and paid considerable attention to energy efficiency. Voltage optimisation was shown as an important element of home energy efficiency with a VPhase unit being installed to save the family money and reduce their carbon emissions.

In the programme, screened on Thursday 26 August, speaking to presenter Nick Knowles about VPhase, the show's environmental expert Charlie Luxton said: "This thing steps down the voltage in the home from 245V to 220V. Pretty much all your electrical equipment is designed to run between 220V to 250V/260V so this thing just means that you use 10% less energy to run all of your existing equipment."

Lee Juby, CEO of VPhase, commented: "We are delighted that our product was used by BBC One's DIY SOS, which is a great source of independent advice for consumers on topics such as domestic energy efficiency. The programme demonstrated the ease of installation of our product, as well as the economic benefits. Consumers' concerns over energy efficiency are increasing, and voltage optimisation is key in addressing this. As Nick Knowles highlighted in the programme, our product will save money on consumer's electricity bills - typically around 10% of the electricity used in the home."

About VPhase plc

VPhase plc provides a product that reduces the energy consumption of many domestic electrical appliances.

The Company has developed a Voltage Optimisation device designed to be attached to the consumer unit (fuse box) in order to control the incoming voltage for selected circuits to a target set point of 220 volts. This is slightly higher than the minimum design point for electrical items in Europe, thereby ensuring that electrical appliances in the home operate closer to the voltage condition for which they were designed.

Tests by VPhase have demonstrated that the product can typically save around 10% of the electricity across a range of domestic products including fridges, freezers, central heating pumps, televisions and other items, even 'energy-saving' light bulbs. This should equate to savings for the typical homeowner of about £50 per annum.

In addition, there is evidence that the life of electrical appliances can be extended by the use of this product; light bulbs, in particular, have demonstrated at least two times longer life when on a circuit managed by the voltage management product as compared to those without the product.
