Proactis Brings Spend Control to the US

29th Aug 2007 12:00

Proactis (LSE:PHD), the UK headquartered Spend Control Company, today announces its launch into the US market. £ Proactis Inc. USA will be run by Tom Brennan, who has held seniorsales, marketing and channel roles at CODA, The Taylor Group,ManagedOps.com and CXO Systems. Brennan has also played a criticalrole in securing a global technical and marketing agreement betweenProactis and Microsoft Corp. £ Proactis Spend Control is an advanced eProcurement solution thatdelivers comprehensive spend management capabilities. More than 200 UKorganizations have already implemented the solution to empower theiremployees to easily purchase the goods and services they need toeffectively perform their jobs, increasing productivity and reducingpurchasing process costs at the same time. £ Microsoft Corp. and Proactis are working together to deliver"off-the-shelf" integration between the Proactis Spend Controlsolution and Microsoft Dynamics GP and AX platforms. This agreementwill enable Proactis Inc. to offer a truly seamless source to settlesolution for organizations using the Dynamics platforms. £ Brennan will use his vast experience in both financialapplications (CODA) and channel development (The Taylor Group,ManagedOps.com) to establish a partner channel that will bring theProactis Spend Control solution to mid-sized public sector andcommercial sector organizations across North America. £ Brennan comments: "We are seeing great demand for a Microsoftbased spend control solution that can be easily adopted throughout anorganization. The purchase order modules sold with most ERP systemsare too difficult to use and are cluttered with ERP nomenclature, sothey don't get adopted outside the purchasing department. Without theadoption, it is nearly impossible to achieve compliance with corporatepolicies. Proactis solutions are designed to engage and empower endusers while maintaining complete budgetary and sourcing control. Ourapproach enables a cultural shift that moves responsibility to therequesting users and allows buyers to source more strategically. £ "Proactis provides a great opportunity for partners interested inestablishing their own spend control practices and offering consultingto a bigger base of users. Demand is particularly great in the publicsector, where encumbrance accounting is a must but remains largelyunautomated to date, and where tax payers are exerting increasingpressure on municipalities to get a better handle on their cost base. £ In the commercial sector, we'll be targeting servicesorganizations with high levels of indirect spend, which cannot becontrolled adequately with enterprise resource planning and supplierrelationship management systems." £ Terry Wilcox, Senior VP at Proactis Group plc, comments: "Tom'sexperience in channel development and recruiting the best partnerswill be critical to Proactis' success in the US. His long standingrelationship with Microsoft Corporation and experience with theMicrosoft channel will also prove invaluable." £ About Proactis £ Proactis is a specialist in Spend Control software helpingorganisations achieve dramatic cost savings, streamlined procurementand corporate compliance since 1996. £ Proactis Spend Control is an advanced eProcurement solution thatmoves responsibility to requesting users whilst maintaining completebudgetary and sourcing control.
