Prior Notice of Merger - Replacement

The following replaces the prior notice of merger announcement released today, 8 June 2011 at 12:00 under RNS number 0782I. The affected sector is supply of books to libraries and not newspaper and magazine distribution as previously stated. All other details remain unchanged and the full amended text appears below:

Enterprise Act 2002 - Prior Notice of Merger

The OFT gives notice under Section 99(1) of the Enterprise Act 2002 (the Act) that a Merger Notice has been given under Section 96 of the Act in respect of proposed arrangements for:

Anticipated acquisition by Smiths News plc of Dawson Holdings plc

The period for considering this Notice will expire on 5 July 2011 unless extended by the OFT under Section 97(2) of the Act.
