Princess publishes October NAV
During the reporting month, valuations of the underlying portfolio companies again showed a positive development overall, favourably influencing the net asset value ("NAV") of Princess. However, adverse foreign exchange effects due to the depreciation of the US dollar against the Euro had a negative impact on the NAV, which, as a result, remained stable at EUR 6.99 per share.
The portfolio continues to show investment activity. For example, Carlyle Asia Growth Partners IV acquired a minority stake in publicly listed China Agritech, a leading organic fertilizer manufacturer in China. The company's value proposition lies in its development of proprietary formulas to create agricultural products that improve crop yield and maintain soil fertility. Furthermore, it recently completed the construction of its organic granular production facilities and expanded its line of organic fertilizers. Carlyle plans to provide China Agritech with its global resources and expertise to accelerate its growth plans and strengthen its leadership position to further generate shareholder value.
Dr. Stephan Schäli, Partner and Head Private Capital at Princess' investment advisor Partners Group, comments: "We are pleased to see increased deal activity in the portfolio, such as Carlyle's recent investment in China Agritech. This further proves that the leading general partners in Princess' portfolio are well equipped to benefit from the current market environment and are able to close new investments at attractive valuations."
