Afren plc announces the pricing of its senior secured notes
London, 1 March 2012 - Afren plc today announces the successful pricing of its offering of US$300 million aggregate principal amount of its 10¼ % senior secured notes due 2019 (the "Notes").
The Notes will be senior secured obligations of Afren plc and will be guaranteed on a senior basis by certain subsidiaries of Afren plc and on a senior subordinated basis by Afren Resources Limited. Interest will be payable semi-annually. Closing and funding are expected to take place on or about 8 March 2012, subject to customary conditions precedent for similar transactions.
Afren plc intends to use the proceeds of the offering to repay and cancel the BNPP/VTB corporate credit facility and for general corporate purposes.
