8 July, 2008 Daily Mail and General Trust plc ('DMGT') Presentation on DMG Information
DMGT is this afternoon making a presentation to City analysts and institutions on its business information division, DMG Information ('DMGI'). The presentation will be webcast from 4 p.m. and will be available on the Company's website, www.dmgt.co.uk.
The presenters will be DMGI's chief executive officer, Martin Morgan, and chief financial officer, Paul Sykes, together with the managing directors of three DMGI companies, Stephen Stout of Landmark, Annemarie DiCola of Trepp and Craig Heldman of Hobsons.
During the presentation, Martin Morgan will make the following comments on DMGI's trading and growth prospects:
"DMGI is experiencing strong trading, except that, as referred to in the half year results, transaction volumes in our two principal property information companies, Landmark and EDR, are inevitably affected by the current market conditions. We continue to see opportunities for strong growth across the portfolio."
In addition Paul Sykes will make the following comment on DMGI's current trading:
"We expect to achieve year-on-year profit* growth of approximately 5% in the year to 28 September 2008.
Margins* are expected to reduce only modestly from 24% to around 23% despite lower property transaction volumes in both the UK and US and the investment programme in the insurance & financial sector."
No comment on current trading for other parts of the DMGT Group will be given during the presentation.
* References to profit or margins are to adjusted operating profit or to adjusted operating margins (before amortisation and impairment of intangible assets and exceptional items).
