Morgan Sindall PLC07 June 2006 Morgan Sindall plc("Morgan Sindall") Morgan Est preferred bidder for £420m gas project for the North of England Morgan Sindall's infrastructure services provider Morgan Est and consortiumpartner Balfour Beatty, have been appointed preferred bidder for a seven-year,£420 million engineering contract to upgrade gas networks across the North ofEngland for United Utilities which runs the mains system on behalf of NorthernGas Networks. Under the terms of the Northern Gas Networks deal, valued at an annual £30million to Morgan Est, the team will replace gas mains, carry out reinforcementworks and install new gas connections to domestic and commercial propertiesacross the North East, Yorkshire and Cumbria. The deal includes a potentialfive-year extension. The contract is due to start in July this year.
