Preferred bidder BSF contract

RM PLC11 October 2005 RM appointed preferred bidder for £6.4 million Building Schools for the Future contract RM plc, the UK's leading supplier of information and communications technology(ICT) and other services to education, has been appointed preferred bidder for a£6.4 million ICT contract with Solihull Council. The contract is part ofSolihull's Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, and is the first ICTcontract to be awarded under the national BSF initiative. The five year contract will provide a managed ICT service to 6 schools inSolihull and is linked to improved educational attainment. The scope of theservice will include the design, implementation and ongoing management of allthe ICT needs in these schools. The service also includes the provision of anLEA-wide Managed Learning Environment, a programme of training, and an educationsupport team to assist with the introduction of the technology.
