White Young Green PLC29 June 2006 For immediate release 29 June 2006 WHITE YOUNG GREEN PLC PRE-CLOSE PERIOD TRADING UPDATE White Young Green Plc ("WYG"), consultant to the built, natural and socialenvironment, is pleased to provide this pre-close period trading update for thefinancial year ending 30 June, 2006. This statement confirms important newcontract awards, the successful integration of recent acquisitions and a furtherstrengthening of the order book. Market conditions in the UK, Ireland and internationally remain favourable,opportunities continue to gather pace and the acquisition pipeline is strong.The Group therefore expects to deliver good progress in the year to 30 June2006. Recent contract wins provide further visibility of future earnings with totalnet order book up 30% on this time last year at £300m. Major projects andframework contracts recently awarded include the following:- • The £553m Birmingham Acute and Adult Psychiatric Hospitals PFI project reached financial close on 15 June, 2006. This project, which provides a new 1,213 bed acute care hospital, a 108 bed specialist psychiatric hospital and a teaching facility, is currently the largest PFI healthcare project outside of London. WYG is providing a wide range of engineering, environmental and planning supervisory services to Balfour Beatty on this landmark project. • WYG has been appointed by the Olympic Delivery Authority to develop proposals to enhance the existing marine facilities at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy which will host the sailing events at the 2012 Olympic Games. This multi-million pound scheme includes the provision of new slipways, race boat parking, lifting and mooring facilities. WYG will be providing design, environmental and planning services as Lead Consultant. • WYG has secured a 4 year nuclear decommissioning framework contract with British Nuclear Group to lead a consortium of companies engaged in decommissioning projects on their Sellafield site in Cumbria. • WYG Planning has been appointed on a 4 year framework contract by English Partnerships to provide development planning services on a national basis through to 2010. • WYG Environmental has been appointed by North Tynedale Council to provide master planning services on the £150m redevelopment of Keilder Reservoir. • The recently acquired Tweeds business has been appointed to provide quantity surveying services on the £20m redevelopment of Liverpool College and project management services to ING Real Estate Investments on the £42m County Mall development in Ashford.
