This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Rules Governing theListing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announcesthat, based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 31 March 2008, thetotal power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") forthe first quarter of 2008 amounted to 29.306 billion kWh, an increase of 6.45%when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The Group'stotal on-grid power generation was 27.561 billion kWh, an increase of 6.24% whencompared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The Company's power generation in the first quarter of 2008 reported anincrease over the same period last year, mainly due to the increase in thecapacity of operating generation units of the Company. During the first quarterof 2008, the generation units of Jiangxi Datang International Xinyu PowerGeneration Company Limited ("Xinyu Power Company"), which is wholly-owned bythe Company; the generation units of Qian'an Datang Thermal Power CompanyLimited, a subsidiary of the Company's subsidiary Hebei Datang InternationalTangshan Thermal Power Company Limited ("Tangshan Thermal Power Company");the generation units of Shanxi Datang International Yuncheng Power GenerationCompany Limited ("Yuncheng Power Company"), a subsidiary of the Company; andLongma Hydropower Station and Tukahe Hydropower Station of Yunnan DatangInternational Lixianjiang Hydropower Development Company Limited ("Lixianjiang Hydropower Company"), a subsidiariy of the Company, have allcommenced operation. This has enhanced the overall power generation capacity ofthe Company.
