This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that,based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 31 December 2007, totalpower generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") for the yearof 2007 amounted to 118.263 billion kWh, an increase of 26.55% when compared tothe corresponding period of 2006. The Group's total on-grid power generation was111.341 billion kWh, an increase of 26.66% year-on-year. The substantial increase in the Group's power generation for the year of 2007 ascompared to 2006 was mainly attributable to the following factors: 1. Increased capacity of the Company's operating generation units: During the second half of 2007, a number of new generation units of the Company's subsidiaries have commenced operation, thus substantially increasing the Group's overall power generation capacity. Such subsidiaries include Zhejiang Datang Wushashan Power Generation Company Limited ("Wushashan Power Company"), Guangdong Datang International Chaozhou Power Generation Company Limited ("Chaozhou Power Company"), Fujian Datang International Ningde Power Generation Company Limited ("Ningde Power Company"), Yunnan Datang International Honghe Power Generation Company Limited ("Honghe Power Company"), and the Yayangshan Project of Yunnan Datang International Lixianjiang Hydropower Development Company Limited ("Lixianjiang Hydropower Company"). Meanwhile, projects including Longma and Tukahe of Lixianjiang Hydropower Company also had new generation units commencing operation in 2007. 2. Increased demand in service areas: In 2007, the power demand within the service areas of the Company - the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Power Grid, the Shanxi Power Grid, the Gansu Power Grid, the Yunnan Power Grid, the Zhejiang Power Grid and the Guangdong Power Grid - continued to maintain rapid growth. 3. The power generation obstruction problem at Hebei Datang International Wangtan Power Generation Company Limited ("Wangtan Power Company"), a subsidiary of the Company, was resolved and its generation units are now operating in full capacity.
