Portfolio Occupancy
Japan Residential Investment Company Limited (AIM: JRIC) is a closed-ended Guernsey registered company established to make and hold investments in residential property in Japan. The Company, its subsidiaries and entities in which it has a beneficial interest are referred to collectively as the "Fund".
On 30 June 2014, the Fund portfolio occupancy rate was 93.9%, down 1.9% from the same date one year prior. Average occupancy for the fiscal year to date - seven months ended June 2014 - was 95.0% which is roughly in line with the three year average portfolio occupancy rate of 95.2%.
The Investment Adviser anticipates improved occupancy performance in the coming months due in part to the seasonal increase in tenant demand that typically occurs around September, a common fiscal interim period end for many Japanese companies.
