Export Facility Update
The Company is pleased to announce the agreement with the operator of the Rio Loro oil reception facility, Huila Colombia, to receive a minimum of 3,500BOPD from the Platanillo field. This facility had previously been able to receive an average of 1,783 BOPD from Amerisur during the last 6 months, with the remainder of Platanillo production being exported through the Orito facility. The Company continues in its efforts to enhance export capacity from the Platanillo field.
Platanillo 10
The well Platanillo-10, the sixth new well of the current Platanillo drilling programme and located on the Platform 5 South pad (5S) has been drilled to a total depth of 8,715ft MD using the Latco-01 drilling rig and has been completed for production. Platanillo-10 is a directional well, deviated approximately 1,950ft north east of platform 5S. The well encountered an interval of 72ft Gross, 45ft net indicated pay in the U sand and 14ft gross, 12.5ft net in the T sand. An interval of 32ft in the U sand was perforated with tubing conveyed guns and the well flowed 1,800 barrels of 31.2° API oil per day over a controlled choke with 55 psi at the wellhead and trace water. The well has now been placed on controlled production at approximately 1,000BOPD, taking field production capacity in the absence of export constraints to approximately 7,800BOPD.
The Latco-01 rig will be skidded onto the next slot within the 5S location to spud well Platanillo-11, which is a directional well whose reservoir target is located approximately 2,000ft to the east of the 5S location.
Serinco rig D-10 is currently sidetracking well Alea-1R as Alea-1ST1, and is drilling ahead at 6,890ft. Located on Platform A, 2.5km south of the well Platanillo-1ST1, Alea-1 has been in production since 2007, delivering 188,029BO during that period. The Alea sidetrack objective is to further delineate the oil columns in the Platanillo reservoirs; confirm the structural configuration shown by 3D/3C seismic; and produce hydrocarbons from the U sand. It is expected that log data will be acquired within the days ahead.
Dr. John Wardle, Chief Executive commented:
"I am very pleased we have reached this agreement with the operator of the Rio Loro facility, which will assist us in increasing our production flows substantially during 2013."
"Platanillo-10 is a very good result for the Company, further adding to our production capacity and understanding of the reservoir. Meanwhile, and importantly, our efforts to develop a suite of long term, dependable, high capacity and high netback options to which we can deliver our high quality crude are bearing fruit."
