Amerisur Resources Plc ("Amerisur" or the "Company")

Platanillo Update

Amerisur Resources Plc, the oil and gas producer and explorer focused on South America, announces an update to its operations in the Platanillo field, Colombia.

· Oil production and export recommenced after road restrictions lifted

· Platanillo-2 ST1 produced 1,023 BOPD on test

· Production ramping back up - currently at approximately 7,500 BOPD

· Drilling Rig Serinco D-10 moving to Platform 9S

· Civil works begun on road to Platform 3N

Normal field operations have now resumed following the enforced suspension of production due to social protests in Colombia.

Platanillo-2 ST1

This well, which, as previously reported encountered 68ft gross, 39ft net pay in the U sands was perforated in the upper U sand only and was flow tested upon resumption of normal operations, producing 1,023 BOPD

Platanillo Production Facilities

The 10,000 BO tanks in Platform 9S have been successfully tested and will be commissioned shortly. The 10,000 BO tank in Platform 5S is expected to enter service in October of this year.

Forward Drilling Programme

The Company has released the drilling rig Latco-01 and has elected to continue the drilling programme with the rig Serinco D-10. That unit is currently being moved from Platform A to Platform 9S, where it will drill well Platanillo-14.

Northern Road Extension and Platform 3N

Construction works were delayed by the national strikes, however these are expected to commence within the next week. The road and location construction is expected to take 60 days.

Colombia National Issues

The national strikes which affected production have gradually been lifted over the last weeks as central Government has met with protesters and attended to their demands. Strikers in the Putumayo region are currently in dialogue with government agencies, seeking a permanent solution to the issues they have raised.

Dr John Wardle, CEO, commented:

"I welcome the successful actions of the Colombian government in seeking resolution of the difficult social situation in Colombia. Amerisur has always given high priority to our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, and the success of this work is confirmed by the fact that no demands were made against the Company. Platanillo-2 ST1, from both a commercial and technical viewpoint is a very good well, adding further production capacity to our Platanillo well inventory."
