Platanillo-3 Update
Amerisur Resources Plc, the oil and gas producer and explorer focused on South America, announces that it has spudded the well Platanillo-3 in the Platanillo Field, Colombia, the first of a planned six well drilling campaign.
As previously reported, the Serinco D-10 drilling rig was recently mobilised to the Platform 9 location and was rigged up and tested before beginning operations on 5 April. Drilling began through a pre-set 13.3/8" conductor pipe. The well has currently reached approximately 3,000ft and operations are continuing according to plan.
The total planned depth of the well is 8,280ft and the Company expects to have electric log and test results from the well during May 2012.
John Wardle commented: "I am very pleased we have begun our exciting drilling programme, which has been designed on the basis of our 3D/3C seismic analysis and aims to substantially increase our reserve base and deliver our 5,000 BOPD target by the end of this year."
