Planning permission issued for Hallburn Wind Farm

Renewable Energy Generation Limited ("REG") (AIM: WIND), the UK renewable energy group, today announces that the Department of Communities and Local Government ("DCLG") has upheld the resolution to grant planning permission for the six turbine Hallburn Wind Farm.

As previously reported, Carlisle City Council resolved to grant permission for the 12MW project in June. Following a review of the decision by DCLG, planning permission has now been issued and, subject to the statutory six week legal challenge period, the project will move to construction in 2015.

Andrew Whalley, Chief Executive Officer said:

"We are pleased to note that Carlisle City Council's decision, taken in line with the planning officer's advice, has been upheld by DCLG. Hallburn is one of REG's largest UK onshore wind projects and as well as providing around 30GWh of green energy per annum will also bring much needed benefits to the local community."
