Planning permission granted for wind project
Renewable Energy Generation Limited (AIM: WIND), the UK renewable energy group, today announces that planning permission has been granted for its single wind turbine Barlborough project in Derbyshire.
The decision, which is subject to a six week legal challenge period, permits construction of a turbine measuring up to 86.5m, capable of generating approximately 2GWh per annum.
REG has a further 13 projects in the planning system awaiting determination.
Andrew Whalley, Chief Executive Officer, said: "This site benefits from excellent wind conditions so this is a very welcome decision. We look forward both to progressing to construction and establishing a Community Fund to support local good causes."
