Planning consent granted for County Durham Wind Farm

Renewable Energy Generation Ltd (REG) (AIM: WIND), the UK renewable energy group, today announces the grant of planning permission for its 6MW wind farm at South Sharpley in County Durham.

The decision permits REG to install three wind turbines with a tip height of up to 100m on the site after discharge of planning conditions.

REG anticipates commissioning the wind farm in Q1 2013.

Andrew Whalley, Chief Executive Officer of REG, said: "This is the fourth consented project we have achieved in the last seven months, demonstrating the value of our in-house development team.

"We now have 24MW of consented wind capacity awaiting construction, building on the 41.15MW already operational."
