Asia Energy PLC11 February 2005 Asia Energy plc PHULBARI COAL PROJECT - UPDATE Asia Energy Plc ("the Company") announced today that its operating subsidiaryAsia Energy Corporation (Bangladesh) Pty Ltd had formerly lodged an applicationwith the Government of Bangladesh for an 'Environmental Site Clearance' for itsPhulbari Coal Project in north-west Bangladesh. The Company said an 'Initial Environmental Evaluation' document, prepared by itsenvironmental consultants, SMEC International Pty Ltd, has been submitted to theappropriate authorities. The document was the culmination of more than sixmonths' intensive field work. "Asia Energy has now fulfilled an important environmental milestone in thePhulbari Coal Project feasibility study," said Mr David Lenigas, Asia Energy'sJoint Managing Director.
