PDMR SHAREHOLDING

The Company has been notified of the following transaction in its Ordinary Shares of 10p each (the "Ordinary Shares"), by Oliver Stocken (a person discharging managerial responsibility).

Mr Stocken is a participant in the Barclays Dividend Reinvestment Plan. On 24 July 2008, 2,332 Ordinary Shares were purchased on the London Stock Exchange on behalf of Mr Stocken at a price of 236.50 pence per share in lieu of part of his final dividend entitlement.

Notification of this transaction is now made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R.
