Paul Connolly Appointed to APN Board

Dublin/London - 18 October 2012: APN News & Media Ltd ['APN'], in which Independent News & Media PLC ['INM'] has a 29.5% shareholding, today announced the Board has appointed Mr Paul Connolly as a Non-Executive Director of the Company.

Mr Connolly is Chairman of Connolly Capital Limited, a Dublin based corporate finance advisory firm focused on the telecom, media and technology sectors and he is a Senior Adviser to Credit Suisse. He currently serves on the Board of Independent News & Media, Communicorp Group and Melita cable.

APN Chairman, Mr Peter Hunt said: "We are delighted Paul is joining the Board. He brings extensive experience in the media and communication sectors."

Mr Connolly was previously a Director of Esat Telecom plc, an Irish telecommunications company, and a Director of Digicel Limited, a telecommunications company with operations across 30 markets in the Caribbean, Central America and the Pacific in which the major shareholder is Mr Denis O'Brien.

Mr Connolly holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
