PASSING OF NASPERS DIRECTOR

It is with great sadness that Naspers announces the passing of Professor Jakes Gerwel early this morning. Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences go to his wife Phoebe and their family.

Prof Gerwel served on the board of Naspers from July 1999. He also served as chairman of Media24 since 2007 and was chairman of Welkom Yizani, Media24's empowerment partner. He made a valuable contribution to the business and he will be sorely missed by the board and all employees of Naspers.
