Dublin/London -18 December, 2013: Independent News & Media PLC ("INM" or "the Company") confirms that following today's issue of the 614,285,714 New Ordinary Shares the subject of the Firm Placing and the Placing and Open Offer and of the 69,325,392 New Ordinary Shares to the trustees of the Employee Benefit Trust, there are now a total of 1,234,029,387 Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding 5,597,077 Ordinary Shares in treasury).

All capitalised/defined terms in this announcement have the same meaning as those contained in the Prospectus published by the Company on 21 November, 2013.
