Operational Update: Positive Trial Results
StratMin (AIM: STGR), the graphite exploration and production company with assets in Madagascar, announces that it has successfully completed the installation, calibration and trial of the MechProTech scrubber at its Loharano project.
Following installation and calibration, a number of trial production runs using the new processing circuit were carried out. The results from these indicated a very positive initial performance of the scrubber, with an immediate uplift in the carbon content of the graphite produced.
By way of example, the most recent trial production batch averaged a carbon content of 90 per cent, with some samples as high as 92 per cent. This is a significant increase on the percentages achieved before the installation of the scrubber, which had been around 78 per cent, and will result in a higher price per tonne.
Furthermore, despite calibration being complete, the Company expects to achieve more improvements in the contained graphite percentage as the benefits from investment of further resources in the processing plant are realised.
Further updates will be made as and when appropriate.
Manoli Yannaghas, StratMin's Managing Director, said:
"This is a big step forward for Stratmin and it verifies the steps taken over the last six months to improve the quality of our output. We look forward to reporting on enhanced production and sales in the near term."
