Operational Update
Golden Saint Resources Ltd (AIM: GSR) is pleased to announce that it has now commenced its 2013 field exploration program at the Tongo Diamond Project in Sierra Leone's Eastern Province. A technical team is currently on site with the field work underway. This program is a continuation of the initial exploration program commenced last field season and includes regional mapping, soil and rock sampling, pitting and regional stream sediment sampling.
The Golden Saint properties are situated within the Archean Man Shield, part of the West African Craton and there are known deposits of both diamonds and gold within Sierra Leone. One of the largest-ever gems, the Star of Sierra Leone, at 969.8 carats, was discovered in 1917.
The Tongo licence area is located northeast of Kenema and is valid for a period of four years, which commenced on 24 November 2011. The licence (EL86/2011) covers an area of approximately 53.42km2 and is located in the Lower Bambara and Malgohun Chiefdoms in the Kenema District, Eastern Province of Sierra Leone.
Nick Burn, CEO of Golden Saint commented, "We are excited to be back on the ground at Tongo to follow up on the positive results of our 2012 field exploration program. We plan to accelerate our activities at Tongo to identify the optimal drill targets in order to commence a drilling program later this season."
