Star Energy Group PLC07 November 2005 Monday 7th November 2005 Star Energy Group plc("Star Energy" or the "Company") New well at Singleton breaks record Star Energy announces the completion of a development well at its Singletonoilfield. As part of an ongoing drilling programme, the company believes theextended-reach Singleton X9 well broke the record for the longest 8.5" holesection drilled onshore UK. The 8.5" hole section was drilled from 1142 feet to9282 feet, a length of 8,140 feet. The well has been TD'd at 9831 feet in 6"hole. The Company plans to put the well on production over the next few weeks. Recently the company re-entered and side-tracked the Singleton X8 well. X8 willbe placed on production simultaneously with X9. The Singleton field is locatedin Hampshire near Chichester and currently produces approximately 390 barrels ofoil per day.
