Official Opening of Benkala Copper Project

Frontier Mining Ltd (AIM: FML), the AIM quoted copper exploration and development company focused on Kazakhstan, is pleased to announce that the Company's Benkala Copper Project was officially opened on Friday 16th December by a delegation of the Aktobe region's Governor's office. The Benkala project is included in the national initiative of the State Programme of Innovation and Accelerated Industrial Development of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014.

Following the ceremony, the plant commissioning group, which was formed earlier in December and consists of various local and central inspection and licensing authorities, began work on inspecting and commissioning the plant on the site.

The plant commissioning group's approval on all construction; including buildings and infrastructure, is expected early in the New Year. Shortly following receipt of approval, the commissioning and licensing of all technological equipment will begin.

Frontier is now able to look forward to starting production at Benkala in 2012, which looks certain to become a milestone year for the Company."
