Future PLC01 December 2005 1 December 2005 Future wins UK licence to publish Nintendo Official Magazine Licence agreed with Nintendo UK Future plc, the international special-interest media group, today announces thatit has been awarded the exclusive licence to publish the Nintendo OfficialMagazine in the UK. The licence builds on the successful relationship Future already has withNintendo in mainland Europe, as the publisher of the French and Italian editionsof Nintendo Official Magazines since 2002. Future was awarded the UK licence by Nintendo UK following a competitive pitchagainst other leading publishing companies. The first issue of the new NintendoOfficial Magazine will go on sale in February 2006. To date, Nintendo has sold more than two billion video games worldwide and over350 million hardware units globally. Nintendo manufactures and markets hardwareand software for its popular home video game systems, including the Nintendo 64,Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, and Game Boy - the world'sbest-selling video game system which has sold over 180 million units since itwent on sale in 1989. Nintendo is also due to launch a new home video gamessystem, codenamed Revolution, in 2006.
