Homeserve Plc29 August 2007 Homeserve plc Termination of discussions On the 21 May 2007, Homeserve plc ("Homeserve") announced that it had approachedDomestic & General Group PLC ("D&G") with a view to entering into discussionsabout a potential offer by Homeserve for D&G. Following a period of negotiation, Homeserve has decided not to pursue an offerfor D&G and has accordingly withdrawn from the process. For the purposes of Rule 2.8 of The City Code on Takeovers and Mergers,Homeserve reserves the right to announce or participate in an offer or possibleoffer for D&G (or take any other action that would otherwise be prohibited byRule 2.8 in relation to D&G) within the next six months with the agreement orrecommendation of the board of D&G, in the event that a third party announces apossible offer or a firm intention to make an offer for D&G, or in the eventthat D&G announces a whitewash proposal or a reverse takeover.
