Off-highway KERS Contract Signed
Torotrak, (LSE: TRK), a leading developer and supplier of emissions reduction and fuel efficiency technology for vehicles, is pleased to announce that it has now signed the development agreement for a high-power KERS in a large off-highway vehicle initially announced in the Group's recent Trading Update.
The agreement has been entered into with one of the largest global manufacturers of off-highway construction and mining equipment within the Energy Technologies Institute's Heavy Duty Vehicles Efficiency programme. This fully funded programme will work to design, develop and demonstrate a high-power KERS for integration in the main drivetrain of both a large mining truck and an on-highway articulated truck. Work is already underway on this project, which will demonstrate the scalability of the Group's KERS technology. All the project partners believe there are significant potential opportunities for the Group's low-cost KERS technology in a range of on and off-highway vehicles.
Adam Robson, CEO, said: "We are very pleased to have been selected as a partner in this important project, confirming the market-leading benefits that our KERS technology can deliver in a wide range of on and off-highway vehicles. Our low-cost, robust, high-power KERS can improve efficiency, reduce emissions and deliver attractive operator payback."
