British Airways PLC05 November 2007 TRAFFIC AND CAPACITY STATISTICS - October 2007 Summary of the headline figures In October 2007, passenger capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometres, was1.3 per cent above October 2006. Traffic, measured in Revenue PassengerKilometres, rose 2.2 per cent. This resulted in a passenger load factor up 0.6points versus last year, to 75.9 per cent. The increase in traffic comprised a10.4 per cent increase in premium traffic and a 0.9 per cent rise in non-premiumtraffic. Cargo, measured in Cargo Tonne Kilometres, fell by 3.0 per cent. Market conditions Market conditions are broadly unchanged, as reported by the company in itsinterim results on Friday November 2, 2007. Strategic Developments The company concluded arrangements for a long term multiple option facility forUS$ 1,700,000,000. The facility will be used to finance aircraft delivered over the next five years. British Airways launched a sale of more than 350,000 Club World seats to 46destinations across the globe. The sale runs until midnight on 27 November 2007,for selected travel dates between December 1, 2007 and March 20, 2008. The airline announced an end to its franchise agreement with GB Airways fromMarch 2008 and its intention to start services on some of the routes previouslyoperated under the franchise. BA plans to start services from Heathrow to Faroand Malaga and from Gatwick to Faro, Gibraltar, Ibiza, Malaga, Palma and Tunisfrom March 30, 2008. The airline will also end its franchise with Loganair fromOctober 25, 2008 and begin a codeshare arrangement with the Scottish carrier. BA CityFlyer announced the acquisition of two Avro RJ85 regional jets for Spring2008. The airline has signed leases for the two aircraft with BAE SystemsRegional Aircraft, to replace the two oldest RJ100s in the BA CityFlyer fleet of10 aircraft. The new, lighter aircraft will be able to carry more passengers onlonger routes from London City Airport. British Airways will operate flights from Gatwick to Poznan in Poland andAntalya in Turkey next summer. There will be daily flights to Poznan from March30, 2008 and three flights per week to Antalya from April 10, 2008. An order was placed for 150 new electric powered baggage tugs to improveoperational performance after its move to Terminal 5. The new baggage tugs arepart of British Airways' £25 million investment in more than 550 airportvehicles, which will work around the new terminal when it opens on March 27,2008.
