Dr. Henning Eckermann, Chief Economist at Partners Group, the investment advisorof Princess, comments: "A small part of the Princess's portfolio compriseslisted companies - listed private equity funds and portfolio companies that havebeen successfully floated but are still in the Princess portfolio due to lock-upperiods. These have suffered from the recent financial market turmoil as pricesfell and volatility rose across the board, irrespective of the quality of theunderlyings. Generally, however, the performance of private equity funds doesnot depend on short term-fluctuations in the market, but rather on long-termmacroeconomic developments. At the moment, our macroeconomic outlook iscautiously optimistic, which is why we expect the positive trend in NAVdevelopment to resume in 2008."
