NOVATEK RECEIVES A1 LISTING ON MICEX STOCK EXCHANGE
OAO NOVATEK ("NOVATEK" or the "Company") announced today that it has received official notification from the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange ("MICEX") that the Company has met the requirements for a category A1 listing on the exchange, the highest category available. The upgrade from a category A2 to a category A1 listing will allow government and non-government pension funds as well as insurance companies to purchase NOVATEK's shares thus broadening the Company's potential investor pool and increasing share liquidity.
Only securities that meet certain financial performance, liquidity, corporate governance and disclosure requirements can be listed on the MICEX. NOVATEK's category A1 listing demonstrates the Company's continued commitment to financial and corporate governance best practices.
NOVATEK's shares began trading under the new listing on 9 October 2009.
