Skyepharma PLC30 September 2005 For Immediate Release 30 September 2005 SkyePharma PLC ("the Company") As a result of transactions on 30 September 2005 by the SkyePharma PLC SharePurchase Plan (an Inland Revenue approved all employee share purchase plan),Michael Ashton and Donald Nicholson, directors of the Company, as trustees ofthe Plan, became the beneficial owners of an additional 6,760 Ordinary Shares ofthe Company, bringing the total held by the Plan to 147,267 Ordinary Shares ofthe Company. As a result the executive directors of the Company have the following additionalinterests as a result of their personal participation in the Plan:- Partnership Shares Matching Shares Total number of purchased on 30 September awarded on 30 Partnership and 2005 at £0.40 per share September 2005 at Matching Shares held £0.40 per share on 30 September 2005 Michael Ashton 313 313 19,016Donald Nicholson 313 313 19,016 In accordance with the rules of the Plan these directors have been awarded theMatching Shares on the basis of one Matching Share for each Partnership Share.
