NOTIFICATION OF MISREPRESENTATION OF NOVATEK'S NAME AND LOGO
Moscow, 07 December 2011. In connection with recent requests from potential international buyers of hydrocarbons and oil products OAO NOVATEK ("NOVATEK") would like to state the following:
1. Neither NOVATEK nor its management or affiliated companies has ever maintained business relations with the company "TILOS TRADING LTD (UK)", 22-24 Great James Street, London, or its Director Mr. Isa Mahmudov. This company and its representatives are not known to NOVATEK and neither NOVATEK nor its management or affiliated companies bear any responsibility for any activities of the above mentioned company and/or its representatives.
2. The letters, allegedly issued in the name of NOVATEK, to the above mentioned company purportedly confirming our business relations, are counterfeit and made by unknown persons by compiling corporate information and elements of NOVATEK's corporate design copied from official documents on our corporate site: www.novatek.ru.
3. The information in the above mentioned letters confirming the availability of benzine, mazut, diesel, crude oil and natural gas allegedly belonging to NOVATEK and located outside the territory of the Russian Federation is not true. The individual who has signed these letters is not our employee and is not known to NOVATEK.
At the present time NOVATEK is considering the possibility of filing a complaint with the appropriate law-enforcement agencies regarding attempted fraud, document forgery and illegal use of our trademark.
If you have been offered to purchase benzine, mazut, diesel, crude oil and natural gas from sources that are located outside the territory of the Russian Federation and allegedly produced by NOVATEK, we recommend you contact us to avoid the risk of fraud.
