Guinness Peat Group plc ("the Company") announces that following an issue of ordinary shares ("Shares") on 15 May 2009 by the Company it has been informed by Franklin Resources Inc ("Franklin") that Franklin's existing beneficial interest in 71,691,861 Shares and consequent voting rights have been diluted to less than 5%.
