Notification of Major Interest in Shares

The Company (AIM:PDL) was notified on 25 January 2010 by BlackRock Inc that BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited now holds 18,891,320 ordinary shares in the Company, representing approximately 5.36% of the Company's ordinary issued share capital.

So far as the Company is aware, following the sale of 20,166,609 shares, Saad Investments Company Limited now holds 60,844,185 ordinary shares in the Company, representing approximately 17.25% of the Company's ordinary issued share capital.
