Helical Bar PLC05 December 2006 5 December 2006 HELICAL BAR PLC NOTIFICATION OF INTERESTS OF DIRECTORS AND CONNECTED PARTIES HELICAL BAR PLC ("Helical Bar" or "the Company") The Company was informed today that the following transactions had taken place: 1. Exercise of Share Options On 4 December 2006 options over 229,320 new ordinary 1p shares and 946,930ordinary 1p shares held by the Company's ESOP Trust were exercised in accordancewith the rules of the Helical Bar 1999 Share Option Scheme and the SeniorExecutive 1988 Share Option Scheme. Following the exercise of these options theCompany has 95,289,932 ordinary 1p shares in issue. Included in these transactions are options exercised by the following Directors: Michael Slade Options over 773,935 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over1,000,000 shares at 113.00p per share and 30,000 shares at 90.50p. Nigel McNair Scott Options over 402,315 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over500,000 shares at 88.50p per share. 2. Sale of Shares On 4 December 2006 the following Director sold shares in the Company: Nigel McNair Scott 229,320 shares sold at 450.00p per share On 5 December 2006 the following Directors sold shares in the Company: Michael Slade 773,935 shares sold at 450.00p per share Nigel McNair Scott 172,995 shares sold at 450.00p per share 3. Helical Bar plc Employee Share Ownership Trust ("ESOP") On 5 December 2006 the Company's ESOP holding of ordinary 1p shares reduced from6,092,131 (6.4%) ordinary 1p shares to 5,145,201 (5.4%) ordinary 1p sharesfollowing the exercise of options and sale of shares by Michael Slade and NigelMcNair Scott. 4.
