AUDIT TENDER October 2015
Virgin Money Holdings (UK) plc and Virgin Money plc ('Virgin Money') announces its intention to appoint PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP ('PwC') as its auditor from 1 January 2016, subject to shareholder approval. The appointment of PwC will be recommended to Virgin Money shareholders for approval at the 2016 Annual General Meeting ('AGM').
This follows a competitive tender process, as referenced in the 2014 Annual Report and Accounts, overseen by the Audit Committee, resulting in a recommendation which has been approved by the Virgin Money Board.
KPMG LLP, Virgin Money's current auditor, will continue in their role and will undertake the audit of Virgin Money for the year ending 31 December 2015, having been reappointed at the 2015 AGM.
Norman McLuskie, Chairman of Virgin Money's Audit Committee said: "KPMG has been Virgin Money's auditor since 2004 and we would like to thank them for their significant contribution as auditors and for their consistently high standards of professionalism in executing this role. We have undertaken a very thorough, open and transparent tender process, a description of which will be included in the 2015 Annual Report and Accounts. "
