Further to the announcement made on 29 May 2009 by BlackRock New Energy Investment Trust plc ("BlackRock New Energy"), notification is made in accordance with LR 9.6.14 that Karen de Segundo, a Non-Executive Director of British American Tobacco p.l.c., resigned as a Non-Executive Director of BlackRock New Energy with effect from 31 May 2009.
