Stanelco PLC31 October 2006 Stanelco plc ("the Company") Notifiable Interest The Company has been notified by a letter dated 30 October 2006 that following asale of 85,000,000 ordinary shares of 0.1 pence each in the Company ("OrdinaryShares"), the Age of Reason Foundation now has an interest in 132,078,122Ordinary Shares, representing a total of 13.19 per cent. of the issued sharecapital of the Company. The Age of Reason Foundation indicated in its letter to the Company that it hassold the Ordinary Shares in order to fund the take up of part or all of itsentitlement under the Open Offer, as announced on 9 October 2006.
