17 September, 2008 Daily Mail and General Trust plc (`DMGT') Notice of Trading Update and of Preliminary Results

DMGT will make its normal pre-close trading statement on the morning of Thursday 25 September, ahead of its year ending on Sunday 28 September, 2008. This will be followed by a conference call with City analysts at 9 am.

The announcement of DMGT's preliminary results for the current year will be made on the morning of Thursday 20 November, 2008.
