The Company de-merged fromPeter Hambro Plc Mining in December 2003 in order to develop mines, situated inthe north west of the Amur Region, in Russia's Far East. In March 2007, Aricom announced that they had purchased amajority holding in the leading Russian mining design institute Giproruda, whichemploys 148 people. By the end of 2006 China imported 326 million tonnes of Ore, to facilitate itsdemand for steel production. This figure is expected to grow further as theChinese economy continues to grow. In June 2006, Aricom announced that they werediversifying production by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding withChina's largest nonferrous metal company Chinalco, to co-operate in the designand development of a Titanium Sponge production plant in China. Aricom is headquartered in London, with a highly experienced board of Directorscomposed of UK and Russian citizens.
