Verizon Communications Inc. (the "Company") makes the following announcement:

On February 6, 2014, the Human Resources Committee of the Board of Directors of the Company authorized a special grant of 10,000 restricted stock units (RSUs) to Anthony T. Skiadas, Senior Vice President and Controller of the Company. Mr. Skiadas is a person discharging managerial responsibility. Each RSU represents the right to receive one share of common stock, plus accrued dividends, upon vesting. Subject to the terms of the Restricted Stock Unit Agreement, each RSU will vest on February 5, 2017.
