Verizon Communications Inc. (the "Company") makes the following announcement:

The Company received notification on January 23, 2014 that Randal S. Milch, Executive Vice President - Public Policy & General Counsel of the Company, a person discharging managerial responsibility, sold 2,823 shares of common stock of the Company (the "Shares") on January 22, 2014. Mr. Milch sold the Shares in New York at an average price of USD 47.47. The sale of the Shares was made pursuant to Mr. Milch's sales plan under Rule 10b5-1(c) of the U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
