Verizon Communications Inc. (the "Company") makes the following announcement:

The Company received notification on July 24, 2014 that Randal S. Milch, Executive Vice President - Public Policy & General Counsel of the Company, a person discharging managerial responsibility, sold 2,966 shares of common stock of the Company (the "Shares") on July 23, 2014. Mr. Milch sold the Shares in the United States at an average price of USD 51.00. The sale of the Shares was made pursuant to Mr. Milch's sales plan under Rule 10b5-1(c) of the U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
