Extraordinary General Meeting
Proposed Cancellation of Share Premium
On 2 June 2009 the Board of Origin Enterprises plc ("Origin" or the "Company") announced that it would be convening an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company to allow Shareholders to consider and if thought fit approve a reduction of capital by way of the cancellation of an amount credited to the Company's share premium account. The cancellation of share premium is proposed to preserve the ability of the Company to pay dividends following a write down in the carrying value of certain properties owned by the Origin Group.
Further to this announcement, the Board today announces that it will be convening an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company at the Westbury Hotel, Grafton Street, Dublin 2, Ireland on 1 July 2009 at 9.30 am.
