AstraZeneca PLC20 March 2006 NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2006 AND PROPOSED BOARD CHANGES AstraZeneca PLC announced today the publication of its Notice of Annual GeneralMeeting for 2006 with a covering letter from the Chairman of the Board, and aShareholders' Circular and Proxy Form. A copy of the Notice of AGM and Shareholders' Circular is available on theCompany's website www.astrazeneca.com and the documents are being despatched toshareholders from today. The date of the AGM is 27 April 2006. With effect from the end of the AGM, Dame Bridget Ogilvie will retire from theBoard after nine years' service as a Non-Executive Director. Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell FRS will be proposed by the Board for election asa new Non-Executive Director at the AGM. Professor Rothwell is currentlyVice-President for Research at the University of Manchester.
