Sunplus Board of Directors Propose Not to Distribute Dividends of 2008 Profits

Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, March 19, 2009 - Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. ("Sunplus" or "the Company") (TAIEX: 2401, LSE: SUPD) today held a meeting of the Board of Directors and Supervisors, at which the board proposed not to distribute dividends of 2008 profits. The 2009 Sunplus Annual Shareholders' Meeting will be held in Room 302 of Science Park Life Hub, No.1, Industrial East Road 2, Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan at 9:00 AM, on Thursday, April 30th, 2009. Invitations to the shareholders will be sent 30 days prior to the date of the shareholders' meeting by mail. The shareholders' register shall be closed for registration of transfer from March 2nd, 2009 through April 30th, 2009.
